1979 – WASTED TALENT
Wasted Talent was formed by Ian Flooks in 1979 as an artistes’ agency, representing bands for live performance on a worldwide basis. Early signings included The Clash, Kraftwerk, Talking Heads, U2, REM and Pretenders. The agency operated independently until 1996. Two Wasted Talent agents, Emma Banks and Mike Greek, went on to run CAA in Europe.
2013 – MIXMAG MEDIA
In 2013 Ian Flooks became president and major shareholder of Mix Mag magazine. Its parent company, Mixmag Media Ltd is now a highly successful digital publishing company, and is the biggest dance music presence on the Internet.
Wasted Talent owns Loco de Amor music, a major independent music publishing company that publishes, among others, the American band Live, who have sold over 20 million albums to date.
